Meet the Children Who Can Team

Rosie Driver

Children Who Can was an idea, which was developed by Rosie Driver with her husband during a long drive to Wales.  At the time, Rosie was on maternity leave, following the birth of her second son, Woody. After being a teacher for eight years, in both the secondary and primary age phases, Rosie knew that she wanted a unique and exciting challenge that combined primary education, curriculum, outdoor experiences and healthy choices for children. She began offering workshops in primary schools and, since then, Children Who Can has expanded into other areas such as the ‘Off Grid’, ‘Tots in the Woods’ and family woodland experiences. In November 2019, Children Who Can expanded into teacher training, delivering a number of curriculum conferences, development courses and bespoke curriculum design for primary schools and educators.

Dr Julie Snead

Having worked in education for over twenty-five years, Dr Snead has a wide range of experience both as a Headteacher and as Executive Principal for a large Multi-Academy Trust. Dr Snead developed a research-based, mission approach to curriculum design and innovation that became known as The CWC Way, which all of our work is based on. She completed a Doctorate in Education in 2018 and continues to provide bespoke curriculum design services, training opportunities, INSET training and staff meetings to schools across Yorkshire and the UK through Children Who Can. Dr Snead is passionate about helping children to become more aspirational, better equipped for the future and highly invested in their own learning experience.

Leanne Cleaver

Leanne Cleaver, a mother of 2 boys works as an Experience Co-ordinator for Children Who Can. She developed her passion and love of the outdoors at Bishop Burton Agricultural College, where she studied Countryside Management. From that point, through working in education, she realised that children were more stimulated  and engaged when learning outdoors. Leanne believes that, having opportunities to discover the world around them creates lifelong memories and has enormous benefits on children’s well-being. Leanne feels very lucky to be able to work with children to enable them to discover that passion from a young age.

Nikky Glew

Nikky, one of Children Who Can’s Experience Co-ordinators, has worked in education for 20 years with children aged two to eleven years. Having previously worked as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, she has extensive experience in working with children with additional needs. She is passionate about inclusive education and believes that all children learn and develop through first-hand experiences. Nikky is constantly inspired by the children around her with their amazing thirst for learning, adventure and fun. She strongly believes in the Chinese proverb:

Tell me and I will forget;

Show me and I may remember;

Involve me and I will understand.
